It’s tricky to get your brand out there. There are so many businesses nowadays that are just shouting at customers without a second thought. To make your brand stand out, you need something that will stick with consumers. It can be difficult, sure, but if you can leave a strong impression on your potential consumers then you’ll find them soon flocking to you, wanting to be a part of your brand.

It’s not necessarily easy to get noticed in Houston, but you’ll be able to use these experiential marketing techniques to help you reach out to your customers in a way that matches your brand. There are a lot of companies available to help you with this type of marketing, so you have plenty of options available to you. It isn’t the easiest thing to do, but you don’t have to try for it alone.

What is Experiential Marketing?

Experiential marketing is just what it sounds like, marketing to potential consumers with experiences and interactions. It operates fairly similarly to things like event marketing, and in fact can be used quite well in conjunction with it.

What this type of marketing does is reach out to consumers to get them involved. You want them to feel as if they’re a part of something, and not just look at some random advert that’s like all the other random adverts. Google, Lean Cuisine, and Guinness have all been known to use this type of marketing, and use it well.

Remember that your brand and your technique need to match up, there’s no getting around that. That doesn’t mean you need to put your product in a consumer’s hands. Instead, you’re looking to make it something they can relate back to your brand every time they think about the experience they had.

What Can Houston Flash Mobs Do?

In 2003, the term “flash mob” was created to describe an event where a “random” performance was done in a public setting. Typically these events revolving around singing and dancing, however there are certainly other activities that are easily incorporated, depending on your needs.

The start to these events is almost always that the performers will act as if they are ordinary citizens, and they will even interact with the public as if nothing is happening. Then there’ll be a trigger, which gives a signal to the group to start their song, dance, or other practiced routine. This can even involve pulling people in from the crowd who weren’t originally part of it, but this isn’t necessary. Sometimes people will join on their own if the song or dance is something they know and can perform.

Flash mobs have a number of effects, and thusly a number of reasons to be used. People have even used flash mobs to bring a little extra magic to their wedding proposals. Some tour groups in New York city want to perpetuate the idea that the city is a magical place, so they’ve been known to hire flash mobs of jugglers, rollerskaters, unicyclists, ballet performers, and more to perform whenever their tour busses go past.

What is Houston Grassroots Marketing?

Grassroots marketing aims not at a large collective of people, but at a smaller, specific group or set of individuals whom you hope will then spread word about your brand. You have to understand your brand well, and the type of consumers you want and have. You have to know which people are more likely to not just enjoy your product or service, but to spread the word about it. You build a campaign around those people.

Street teams, social media, and Youtube videos are pretty common mediums for this marketing style. Remember that this marketing style is going to be extremely dependent on your brand and your demographic, so you have to tailor your vehicle of communication to match that.

One bonus to this marketing style is that the money spent is able to be used arguably more effectively. Instead of using a large sum of money to perform a blanket style campaign you’re concentrating your funds on a much smaller, and more easily defined group. It’s possible that, by the concentration of cash flow, you also have a cut in your expenses, meaning this is possibly a cheaper option in the end.

How Guerrilla Marketing Makes an Impact in Houston

This is a different type of marketing, because the purpose of this is to surprise your potential consumer. It’s not as simple as putting your items on display on a cart or handing out some flyers. The goal is to touch them on a personal level, and rock them at their core.

This sort of marketing will get a lot of attention in a very short amount of time, because it hits people hard and deep. But that’s the point of it all, to leave a long lasting impression on people. Even Unicef, Nintendo, and Sharpie have used this marketing campaign, along with countless others.

While these campaigns are aimed at the public, they aren’t always placed directly in contact with a lot of people. After all, if your campaign involves large, intricate designs then you probably won’t be able to put it even in multiple places around Houston, let alone in several cities outside of it.

Given the nature of it, it’s all but guaranteed you know several examples of this type of campaign. There once was a set of signs that, from the height of a small child, would give warnings and help guides regarding child abuse. As well, 3M’s three million dollar campaign blew up online, as it offered three million dollars to anyone who could kick a hole in the bulletproof glass. The event was extremely cheap for the company to hold, since it was only a day long and the money in the case was either fake or canadian, however it had such a huge impact, and reached more people than any commercial would have.

Guerrilla marketing makes a statement, and it makes a loud one. It reaches out to people in a personal way, and gets them involved, thinking, and, most importantly, talking.
